Course Overview: This course extends students’ knowledge and understanding of the real number system and its properties through the study of variables, expressions, equations, inequalities, and analysis of data derived from real-world phenomena. Emphasis is placed on making connections in algebra to arithmetic, geometry, and statistics. Critical thinking skills, calculator and computer technologies are essential components in this course. |

Materials:
binder (at least 1 inch thick)
Please prepare a big plastic envelope containing the following:
a) a pack of loose leaf paper
b) a box of sharpened pencils
c) 2 black and 2 red pens
d) a box of markers or crayons
e) 12 inch/30 cm ruler
f) eraser
Don't forget to label the envelope with your name. This will be your emergency supply for the year that will be kept inside the Math classroom. I expect each student to have these supplies ready by 7 September, Monday.
